the good thing here is that you didn’t lose it in front of college students at lunch time and everyone staring at you already waiting for you to do any damn mistake - which you do sigh
I work in a hotel where I’m constantly running up and down stairs, and I can vouch this is a real thing—you could run up and down set of stairs successfully dozens of times, and then there’s that one time where you’re just managing to miss every step.
About 20 years ago, when my son was 10, we were looking for long underwear near the end of January. We were trying a Sears – remember those? – and we ran up the down escalator. There was a young teenager at the top who saw us and said, ‘My Dad would never do that with me!’.Unfortunately I do not think that my son remembers that event.

A step at a time, Sophie. Just take it a step at a time.

It just occurred to me that it’s been quite a while since I ran up stairs 2 at a time, don’t think I will try it today

Remember when we used to jump off stairs, daring each other to go higher and higher? I’d be terrified to try it off the bottom step now!
