My friend had two children and a dog. Sadly, after a long and happy life, the dog passed away. And that’s when my friend discovered that about 30% of what his kids ate actually went into their mouths. The rest went onto the floor, where the dog was no longer there to clean it up.
At a large Friendsgiving, a couple with two children in highchairs sat at one end of the extra long table. Partway through the meal I realized I hadn’t seen our English cocker spaniel. I said something and the young couple said not to worry, that Sherwood was installed between the toddlers making sure no food hit the floor. And our hosts were grateful.

One of the things I almost miss about having a dog
Our St Bernard would eat just about anything off the floor, cats are picky
