I’m a “tech head” so the other techy guys I know always complain (often and loudly) that I still run XP on all my computers.1) They all came with an XP license. The laptop I ordered XP Downgrade discs because Vista was so incredibly horrible (only about 3 months after it came out). I would have to pay for 7 which generally costs so much it would be easier to just buy a new computer, which I don’t need yet.2) All 3 systems run very quickly, but would slow down with 7, especially the XP Home netbook with 1GB of RAM. The desktop and laptop are fast enough to run 7 but they’d still be slower than they are with XP.3) All my peripherals work fine with XP. With 7, there may not be drivers for my older printers and scanners, especially since it’s hard to find 32-bit Win7 systems where even if there’s a driver that “works” it’s not “fully functional” like a 32 bit driver is. I’ll upgrade when I need a new system or when XP is truly no longer usable.
As far as the comic goes, I can’t see the Pride Rock scene without laughing anymore, after the new bloopers trailer for Lion King 3D came out where Rafiki accidentally drops Simba off the cliff.
While I like this comic fine, I don’t find this one that funny myself, it’s more of a painful disconnect to me.
As Microsoft tends to blow it badly with every other version they release, this just reminds me that the new laptop I need to get needs to be one with Windows 7 on it since past experience with Vista warns me I’d probably end up taking a fire axe to anything with 8 on it.
Love the whole “Lion King” theme! LOL!! :D animals with technology make me smile cuz they dont know how to use it! (well, unless you’re Will, of course!)
