I still think that like humans dogs have selective hearing; they will still ignore commands and hear a food container being opened. They have learned well from their ‘masters’.
An audiologist I used to work with tried to fit a friend’s dog with a hearing aid (at the friend’s request). Didn’t work well. Dog shook his head and aid went flying.
