Something like this actually happened to me. It wasn’t an Apple password, but, as I was trying to change my password (as required), it kept saying the new one wasn’t complying, even though I knew it was. In frustration, I entered my current password (which, by the way, wasn’t long enough), and it was accepted!

I have encountered websites that won’t accept my email address, saying it isn’t a valid address. Never mind that I have been using it since 1995.
