I’ve known some of the sweetest Pitts. It’s the owners and some breeders that cause the problems. I also had a doberman who was a big baby and an Akita lab mix who was a sweetie.
Pits themselves are not bad. But you should only have one and when out of the house it should always be leashed and with a responsible adult. Problem is a lot of people rescue Pits without knowing their full history, a lot of dogs that have problems are dumped on the shelters. The biggest reason Pits have such bad reputations is when they do bit, they don’t bit and release they tend to try and take a chunk of flesh out of the victim. This tends to make Pit attacks deadlier than other breeds. You have to know the breed and their traits, and a lot of people go into the adoption without being educated.

The last time I saw a mouth like that, Luke Skywalker was about to walk the plank and fall into it.

It’s hard to tell the difference between smiles and snarls.
