On the farm we had a hen that flew up on the sheep’s backs and did the same.

I’m raised as a city kid, and am obviously missing something here. What do the guinea fowl eat?

If you are interested in a mildly amusing story from the early 1900’s and you can tolerate moderate ethnic slurs from a bygone era check out the short story “Pigs is Pigs”. Wikipedia has a entry on it and there is a Disney short based on it on youtube, which is kinda cute. Apparently this story inspired the creature from Heinlein’s book “Red Planet” and, later, the original Star Trek episode “The Trouble with Tribbles”. You can read the story on Project Gutenberg.

    Enjoy.
