@prfesser: I am an author and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Twenty years ago I would be hard-pressed to find a grammatical or typographical error in one of the major magazines such as ‘The New Yorker.’ Now I can pick up a copy and find ten or more on the first couple of pages. We just don’t seem to care about our own language anymore.
