Gee, I'm sorry, Mike, I can't make it. Mike: Can't make it? J.J, what do you mean you can't make it? J.J: I've got a term paper due next Monday. I have to work... Mike: J.J, you can't do this to me. This is my first good shot in years at having a date on New Year's Eve. I've been looking forward to it all fall! J.J: Gee, I'm sorry, Mike... Mike: Look, I'll help you on your paper. I"ll do the research. I'll do anything! J.J: I'm sorry, Mike. You wouldn't be able to help. We'll do it next year, okay? Mike: *sigh* Look, what if I sweeten the pot? Want to get married?
