Roland: ...And that's the evening's damage assessment...from the newly resurgent press corps! Ronald Reagan: Uh...everybody here? Okay, since this is the first cabinet meeting of the new year, why don't we start with the spin control report. Pat? Pat Buchanan: Thank you, Mr. President. As you know, sir, the big challenge of 1987 is to try to undo the damage of 1986. From Nicaragua to Danloff to Reykjavik to the disinformation campaign to the arms shipments to Iran, last fall was an utter fiasco. Frankly, sir, your credibility has taken a major beating. The public's been forced to conclude that you're either, A) the most deceptive president since Nixon, or, B) the most uninformed president to ever hold the post. Ronald Reagan: Gosh...well, which is it? Pat Buchanan: Respectfully sir, "B". People: No, no, "A"! "B"! "A"!
