Roland: Okay, this is a microphone... British man: I know. We have them in our country, too. Roland: You mean, you have television? Man: Yes, and automobiles! There's just no way to return to the past...We've got generations of stagnation and disillusionment, a tired, discredited of party members...and a willingness on the part of Gorbachev to let us settle our own affairs. Roland: Do you think the government will continue to resist change? Man: Of course, as you know, there's been a new round of press censorship...but that won't supress demands for the resignations of the Cabinet. By this time next month, I think you'll see millions of ordinary people demanding democracy. Roland: Incredible! And yet, Britain already is a democracy. Man: Uh..well, yes. There'll probably be some sort of vote involved.
