George Bush: Is he in? Oh...well, when would be a good time to catch him? Is he in? Yes, I'll hold. Gorby? It's me! Uh...sure...I can hold a little longer... Even his toughest critics have to concede his phenomenal popularity as a leader. He is more popular with Americans than any past president ever was, including Reagan. Sure, there've been some problems on his watch-an uncompetitive economy, growing environmental concerns, a soaring crime rate, persistent homelessness...but on the world stage, he has a surprise, showing far more imagination and daring than he was thought capable of. He is knowledgeable on a wide range of foreign policy issues, he is a shrewd negotiator...and he talks regularly with George Bush!
