Ray: Yo! Tired of Desert Shield 'toons written from stateside? Check out these cartoon dispatches from the front, created by "Zorro," an airman stationed at central command in Saudi Arabia! The brass may dis him, but the man is proper! And yo, if you're not hip to the references, get into our annotations! Man: Hey! Turn on the light, roomdog. Great news! Post office found your mail! Man 2: Let's go, Bud! Bus is here...time to earn that Imminent Danger Pay. Man 3: I'm dying from the boredom! Something has to happen soon before I go crazy! I didn't think this could happen! Man 4: He's okay sir, just a little depressed after his morale call Living In Purgatory by Zorro "Perhaps he'll be ready in 3-6 months, the most 1 year" Annotations: 1. The huge volume of mail has meant frustrating delivery delays. 2. The bus to and from Cent Com is said to average one accident a week. 3. The Pentagon's no-rotation policy has been a morale-buster. 4. Iraq's decision to test-fire SCUD missiles unnerves the troops. 5. Phone calls home can be difficult. Too often, there's bad news.
