Yesterday’s quote from Crisis was awesome…
“Embrace the suck!”

If you want to really support the troops. DOnate to the USO or anysoldier.com!
Slapping a magnet on your gas guzzler is a no-go in my book.

How do you raise morale without ladies?

As I recall, when Thudpucker was first brought in as a character, he was the answer to Bruce Springsteen. Why he’s been allowed to fall so far is beyond me.

That magnet on the car ruins the finish, too.. potrz. I think maybe Gary is ruining his finish having returned and been awfully lame very often.

Obvious question: who would troops want to see on a USO tour out of today’s celebrities?
Potrzebie almost 15 years ago
lady GA-GA! and the BEP’s!

@Potrzebie: Absolutely. The USO has, for example, a way to pay for phone cards that they will distribute to military people in Iraq & Afghanistan. The USO does a lot more than bring in entertainers. For example, they have military support centers at major airports and military bases in the US and abroad. I’ve used the USO centers at SFO, LAX and ATL several times.
Other organizations to consider:
American Red Cross Fisher House - provides housing near major military hospitals for the families of military patients–rather like a military version of Ronald McDonald House Disabled American Veterans - provides counseling & assistance, especially in navigating the intricacies of DVA paperwork IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America) - advocates for vets in Congress and provides help for vets making the often-difficult transition to civilian lifeJustice22 almost 15 years ago
@gslusher, Personally, I dislike the Red Cross even though I have had friends working for them. The only time I saw them in Korea was as I was leaving, They passed out 50 cent size donuts and a pill cup of cold coffee on the train to Inchon. “Remember all the good things we have done for you and open your wallets when you get home”. A direct quote. A buddy’s father passed away and his sister called to let him know that she had arranged travel, cleared with the military, etc. All that was necessary was the official notification by the Red Cross. It finally came several days after his father’s burial.
