“Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war”—in Tucson. Looks like the Sarah Palin doll managed to off Sam after all, just as she and the other dolls schemed to do half a year ago. That arc by GT may have been a caricature of “conscience dreaming” (a corruption of the Tea Partiers’ Constitution dreaming?)

Good thing Jeff is out of country. or Havoc might return to the good old days of ‘terminate with extreme prejudice’.

I just love these particular guys, especially Havoc who could be a role model only for a total idiot like Jeff.

@Palin drome, I hope that you’re not making light of the loss of so many lives, including a 9 year old girl, in the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords?

While it is likely that Giffords may survive, we don’t know in what capacity. And the damage done to a community and our nation’s psyche is immeasurable. While she may not be JFK, she is well-liked and approachable and does a good job of representing a difficult constituancy fairly. Something not many can say about their own Representatives.

May Grace be with all in need due to the assasination attempt.

Of course there is nothing here to prove this is Karzai’s brother. Wouldn’t want to start an international incident.

“Terry and the Pirates” (for you fans of comics history; great characters, great story-telling) in the late Thirties had stories set in China during the Japanese invasion but would never mention that the invaders were Japanese. I suspect that changed after Pearl Harbor.

No sense blending in and learning the lingo , Hav. Offer him a pulled pork sandwich, tell him to go the temple and wsay “om” or whatever and then send his wife a really nice lipstick. That’s the traditional way to treat our allies.

FH1: I wasn’t speaking of Palin but of the comments by “palin drome”. Tho she can say many patriotic things I would agree with, I have little respect for Sarah Palin for many reasons, but I still would never talk about her in the terms I used for that mass-murdering insane scum in Tuscon. Too bad his insanity will protect him from the execution he deserves.

Sarah Palin doesn’t say patriotic things. She mouths jingoistic platitudes that counterfeit patriotism, while celebrating the insane gun culture that helped to make the Tucson massacre possible.,

Hey Sarah - So how’s that “Don’t retreat, reload” thingy workin’ out fer ya? You know, the one where you put up a website with RIFLE CROSSHAIRS on Giffords’ district?

Sometimes when you get whackjobs all fired up and tell them to do bad things, you need to consider your personal culpability when they do them.

(To this day, I can’t imagine why Nancy Grace has never been held responsible after she harangued that woman on the air so badly that the woman left the studio and committed suicide!)

Whatever the mental state of the Arizona shooter, there is no excuse for fostering paranoid delusion and hallucination as if they were an acceptable part of political discourse.

@longtimecomicsfan - “If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed.” — Mark Twain.

    Loughner was

Probably schizophrenic. Totally uninfluenced by Palin as far as any evidence suggests. Primarily a leftist, to the extent that he was political. Not that that matters much given #1, but it does put the lie to a lot of these dishonest attempts to blame Palin for the shooting.

    http://tim.2wgroup.com/blog/archives/002383.html

Not that anyone on the left was complaining about Obama’s “if they bring a knife, we bring a gun” comment. Hell, google “assassinate Bush” sometime. You get a mix of leftist advice on how to assasinate Bush and actual attempts to do so.

I’ll agree that everyone should tone down the violent rhetoric. But implying that Loughner even followed Palin is a matter of seeing what one expects to see and not what’s actually there.
