B.D. Jail? What happened? Voice: Your friend beat up someone at a bar. B.D.: What? But I ... I just talked to him! I'll be right down! Voice: I don't advise it. Let him sleep in off. Come by tomorrow. B.D.: Oh... okay. Thanks, officer. Voice: No problem. B.D.: Ray's in jail. Where were we? Boopsie: Are you insane?

Too late to start where you left off now.

Gee, I wonder if BD is just looking for conversation? (<- sarcasm)

He’s not insane, merely optimistic. Besides, it’s March 1st, and in spring, a young man’s fancy, and all that.
(Yes, I know that B.D. isn’t a young man, but he gets to sleep w/ Boopsie, and that would keep any man young.)

Last Sunday, BD wasn’t the least curious about Boopsie’s fantasies of her Playmate past. Now that his own mate from the past is safely in jail for the night, BD tries to give Boopsie the attention she no longer craves. Bad timing, but their marriage obviously can survive it. (At least BD doesn’t have to worry about that Viagra moment—or is it Cialis?)

@BrianCrook – well put. And Boopsie’s still got it together well into her 40’s. She’s like the Marisa Tomei of the comics.

Agreed, Brian. But all is not yet lost. He’ll just have to make it up to her by starting over and giving her attention in ways that he might not otherwise have been his first choice.
I wonder how the commandos are doing?

I think this is the frist time that I have seen BD smile. It’s creepy.

It reminds me a little of the old joke about the definition of “sang froid” - but this is more like the definition of “cold front”.

They still have a land line…. with a CORD?

Events sure move quickly in the strip this week. First, BD was going to quickly conclude his activities with Boopsie (which obviously endeared him to her), get cleaned up, get dressed (does BD wear his prosthetic leg in bed?), and arrive at the bar in 15 minutes? I question BD could do all that in 15 minutes if the bar was directly next door. Secondly, Ray got into a bar fight and the cops are calling BD in, what, 10 minutes after BD talked to Ray? I doubt if Ray had slugged a cop in the lobby of Police Headquarters someone would be calling BD that quickly.
Yeah, I know … nitpicking in the extreme. But spotting logic flaws and physical impossibilities in movies and books (and comics) is how some get added entertainment out of these things.

And, if I recall correctly, BD was on the other side of the bed.
We still have a land line, with a cord, plus, in the interest of full disclosure, 2 cordless phones, one of which was given to us.. Cell phones don’t work here. Maybe they don’t in Walden either???

B.D. almost looks like Fred in Mister Rogers! Wanna be my neighbor?

BD should strap on his helmet and try again.

It’s not THAT unusual to still have a corded phone in your house, especially when it’s a wall-mounted unit in the kitchen.
…and, no, BD does not look anything like Mister Rogers.

As for yesterday’s comment about teflon soldier and how Ray is always in one piece, do remember that back in the first Gulf War - Ray caught a kneeful of shrapnel when his (and BD’s) HumVee got blown up.

This is apparently taking place as soon as BD returned from the bar.
