Just for the record, there has hardly been any snow in the Northeast this year.

Tell that to those who’s livelyhoods are associated with ski resorts.

I hope that this week isn’t the impetus for Alex & Leo’s marriage. Too many of *Doonesbury*’s women are too needy for men. Boopsie’s evolution of independence is one of the strips great accomplishments, but it came only because B.D. was back in Iraq and then was wounded.

C’mon Alex. The single life is way underrated.

We’ve had a strange winter, in N Central OH. It suddenly snowed this past weekend and dropped about 4 inches here and six inches elsewhere in the county. We’ll get more tonight and tomorrow maybe—but this is the first big snow in nearly a month.

I must be ignorant as well as blind…Doonesbury women are needy? Could we have some examples?

To the readers of the “Agnes” strip: Does this bring back memories of Christmas? Let’s hope Alex is as resourceful and resilient as Grandma and Agnes were.

In northern New England we had our winter in October and November. Just dustings since then. But sometimes forecasts go awry and you get 18 inches of “partly cloudy”. Happens in March a lot.

You’re having the winter we had last year, I was wondering where it went!

The only group of people I can think of who actually want to be married are gays, and I suspect that will change when it is generally possible.

I’m in Maine, and including the snow we got on Halloween, and since then, I don’t believe we’ve received 6 inches yet. Of snow. Rain, on the other hand, has probably exceeded that. It’s rained entirely too often! All that rain has made plenty of ice, though!

Alex, however, is needy. I don’t see a marriage happening, despite (or perhaps because of) Alex’s taking it as an inevitability (today’s punchline notwithstanding). If there IS a marriage, I don’t expect it to be a happy one.

Alex needs to read this past Sunday’s Washington Post Magazine:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/some-people-never-find-the-love-of-their-lives-and-live-to-tell-about-it/2012/01/13/gIQAB0S43Q_story.html and http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/arts-post/post/the-single-life-results-from-our-survey/2012/02/10/gIQAEi4g4Q_blog.html?hpid=z11

For the record, we got our first snow of the season (1") overnight Sunday at the beach in Maryland.
