At least the poor dear didn’t ask to come in and watch TV

Wouldn’t it be better to sell the kid to someone who wants him?

Really tired of Doonesbury reruns. Time for me to cancel this one from my feed.

I’m reading this arc with a twinge of guilt as I recall my own self-absorption with work vrs. family in those days. While this satirizes the situation, it reminds me of all the times that I wasn’t there for my kids.
I joke with my daughter, that I brought her up by benign neglect. I must have done some things right, because we share a very good relationship, and have always been very open, and honest, with each other
When my oldest grandson was born 21 years ago, I made a promise to myself to be around for him, and for my daughter.I kept that promise, until he graduated from high school.

One of the healthiest changes in our society is that people are free to decide whether to have children. Just a few decades ago, it was automatic – When you got married, it meant you were going to have children. Trudeau is taking a humorous look at the result once women started having careers.

Hey, at least they’re saving on child care costs…

Like I said yesterday, work-at-home as childcare doesn’t work.

Still apropos after how many years? 30? The mark of a good comic strip is that it stands the test of time. Modernize his computer equipment & his hair, and it would fit right in in 2016; with our dual income households with latch key (or somewhat sidelined ) kids. No wonder they bond more with BioShock 2 , Pokemon Go, or MineCraft more than with mom and dad. Tally Ho, Future Shock! … Que sera sera!

Now all that Red Rascal imagination makes sense. He had a lot of time to build up drama in his mind.

It’s a word processor, NOT a computer

If they both have high power careers they should hire a nanny.

I like the brief glint of compassion in this bit player. What did it take—three appearances?—before her character started to deepen a little? Trudeau can’t resist humanizing his characters.
