I’m nearly 70, and my creative work – which includes composing, modular synthesis, computer animation, and film production – gives demonstrable proof that the lights are still on upstairs.
There are 30-year-olds that have no business being in public office, and 80-year-olds whose wisdom and presence in public life is a gift to us all.
It’s not a one-size-fits-all situation. I don’t have the answers here; there are clearly situations where it’s time to gracefully leave the stage. But bringing out the hook should be a response of last resort.
Strom Thurmond was born December 5, 1902 and was 94-1/2 years old when this strip first ran on June 10, 1997. He continued to serve until he left office in January of 2003 at an age of over 100 years, and died shortly afterward.
You know, there are people reading this strip who are fully adult, with marriages, jobs, kids and all, who weren’t even born when this strip was published – and yet it is 100% apposite today.
Well, Lacey seems to have a problem with very short term memory. Her long term memory, remembering which party she’s in, what law she’s working on, what theme matters the most to her, all mark her as a good representative. Being able to forget that a young voter called her an old hag that should resign might be an advantage.

The resignation should be given by all, and I stress all, those who are over 70 years old.

Lacey tells him he will be haunted by three spirits—“All of whom are an improvement over your own dreadful manners”

Currently, two-thirds of the USA voters should be disqualified from voting in the coming election. They believe Biden is the cause of current chaos.
