Hmph! When I was their age, chores in my house were top priority. Thankfully, there were no computers, cell phones, Ipods, or video games then.

@TammifunniesUnfortunately I can not exaggerate like you; my room was hardly ever clean. I can say that it was uncluttered since I had baskets for the dirty laundry and a cabinet of drawers for the clean laundry.

Mine hated to clean their rooms said they kept it that way so no one could break in and steal them…the floor was a danger zone.

I take away the game plug until all chores have been done, also have to take away phones – there are way too many distractions. I hated having to share a room with my older sis because neither one of us could leave the room until it was clean and the first thing she did was plop down on the bed and take a nap. She wouldn’t let me touch her stuff either and we would get whippings if we took too long!

My room was usually a mess — I had to deal with severe distractions like going outside and chasing the neighborhood stegosaurus, brontosaurus and hiding from the T-Rex that lived on the next block.

As a kid my room was a mess — then I went off to college, and my roommate was a real slob, and it scared me into becoming neat.
