Norman: Let's go over a few simple rules of summer camp... For the next two weeks, there will be no fighting, no swearing... No feeding the animals, no cell phones... Wait, What??!!
Kid: No cell phones??
As a camp counselour Norm should have been made aware of the rules during his orientation/training time. Maybe he just didn’t realize that the rules would apply to him as well as the campers.
Should be mandatory for urban kids to spend time at some kind of fresh-air (mountain, country, whatever) camp — with the rule of no personal electronics (well, maybe give the good ones an hour or so per week). I know it will never happen, but one can always dream…
How many of you, IF YOU HAD A KID LIKE NORMAN, would allow him to be in charge of youngsters??? I know he’s 19, but he lives at home, so Ralph or June should have taken charge. IRL, with a kid like that, you contact the people in charge of the camp and let them know that they may not get back as many kids as they send to that camp!!!

They probably don’t work up there anyway.

Summer camp for me was 8 weeks long. You called your parents once a week, and wrote a post card twice a week
