I started in the technology field 60 years ago. I helped develop some of that stuff and still do my best to keep abreast. However, my wife is still in the 18th or 19th Century. Her birthday is coming up. I think I’ll buy her a new washing machine – a scrub board and a washtub. :-)

My mom once insisted on using the GPS even though I knew the way back home. She won out, and we ended up miles from home.

Real men don’t ask for directions either. People are always telling us to get lost.

In Maine, we have “The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer”. Way better than any GPS out there. Even shows logging roads deep in the Maine woods.

Maps show you where you want to go. GPS show you where you are now. Autocorrect gives you directions to a similarly named street in another state.

I understand. I am quite expert using my gps for hiking, but less so for driving. I think it is more a question of attitude than of capability.
