I got home from work once and Rusty was hanging out in the sunken living room, actually on the stairs to accommodate his bulging belly. Nuggett, the big dog, had knocked down his bowl of food and Rusty, in true doxie fashion, ate until he could barely breath.
We have two Newfie/Lab mixes and the very last pup of their very last litter. (They only had the one litter). And sometimes I swear they eat more than we do.

You have to weigh your inclinations with the strong possibility of having an obese dog.

Depending on the time of day the “puppy-dog eyes” request is dinner, play or warm up my blankets in the dryer.

Cats do the same thing. Mine are trying to trick me into giving them a 3rd meal.

Our cat does the “sad look” at me, when he wants a treat. He just sits there and stares at me.
