I think most news sites purposefully pick news stories that will rile up a certain segment of their audience. Then they get more clicks, and more ad revenue.

My dogs run barking to the front door when the deer set off the Ring doorbell/chime. Just doing their job but annoying.

This would have worked better if the man were complaining about the dog getting upset and then turned to do the same thing at the TV.

Dachshund: If a tree falls in a woods 400 miles away, my dachshund, Katie, will bark…and bark…and bark…

Mine barks if the neighbor has company or the couple that live behind me are sitting on their patio. Strangely, he doesn’t bark at people when I take him for a walk.

Except in your case it’s call vigilance.
