Nah it’s not “selfish” to want to spend a little time alone, doing something you enjoy and unwinding. besides wouldn’t honeybunch prefer to spend time visiting her mom 1 on 1? Both with my own mom and my mom-in-law when we’re “visiting” our conversations and activities are usually things that are of very little interest to my husband. There’s no father-in-law for Ralph to visit?

It never is all she has to say.

I would rather watch a ball game than go see any in laws.

Why should he go?

Perhaps Honeybunch’s mother took “mother in law” lessons from Ma Gargle from The Born Loser.;-D

Nag! Nag! Nag! Nag! Nag!

I’m wondering just which one is being selfish, here.

I don’t understand the logic of dragging someone to an event or activity that will make him (or her) miserable. What is the point of that?

Why should he go when he knows that she’s not going to say anything nice to him?

Ralph doesn’t want to spoil the visit for June?

If her mom is anything like her, why pile on?

I was blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law and I miss her. My wife’s mother-in-law was another story…

Since I’ve been married I never have to worry about having something to talk about.

Honeybunch doesn’t seem to catch the concept of WIN-WIN.

No man really likes his mother-in-law ( except you). Mother-in-laws always side with their daughter in a disagreement. Father-in-laws go for a beer when that happens. lol

I suspect if he loved his mother-in-law and she loved him in return he would be more likely to want to visit.

I’m with Ralph on this one, but guess who will get her way? We know who wears the pants in that family.

She will be telling you until you die, and then she will be telling the mourners as they pass by your casket.

She is a real shrew. And her mom is even worse.

“Oh look, there’s your Mom, sitting in the bleachers.”

Honeybunch went full “Forest Gump” on Ralph.

Discretion is the better part of valor, June.

She is such a hypocrite. Totally selfish, and can’t stand for him to enjoy anything.
