I once had a dog who would cause damage to my apartment whenever I was gone. Then I got a second dog. They kept each other company. No more damage or other mischief.

With the costs of tickets and other items at a ballgame; maybe it’s a good thing to watch the game at home…

When either of us would leave, the dachshund would go to the window and howl and cry for ten minutes.

I always took my dog to my daughter’s soccer games. Freyja was very well socialized and would watch intensely and give an encouraging bark whenever she would have control of the ball. People would often remark how well behaved she was and sometimes ask if she really understood the play because of her undivided attention to the game. I would bet she did. She also seemed to understand backyard football as she knew enough to tackle the ball carrier by throwing herself into the back of their knees. Norwegian Elkhounds are powerful little dogs.

But absence makes the heart grow fonder. He’ll be so happy when you return.
