All the dachshunds my family and I have had have automatically begged sitting up on their bums just like Wally does. Any other dogs we’ve had had to be taught to do it!
At 1st I wondered if they should be doing it, with their long spines prone to injury and all, but the vet said it was fine and in fact that it would “help keep their core strong” which is good for their back. They’re darn cute when they do it!
One year when my late husband was working- he was a musician was playing at a local nursing home. he came home in the middle of the trick or treat period. We had a group of feral & stray cats that I was feeding during that time. When he got to the door he called me. One of the cats was siting there looking hopeful. WE assume she saw all these people coming to the door & getting food, so why not her. I immediately got some cat treats (we had 2 indoor cats) and gave them to her. We named her Trick or Treat! She did disappear, but we were hoping someone took her in or she got trapped by someone who didn’t like the cats. We have a protected wetland behind us, so we need cats to keep away the snakes & other pests, but some people don’t realize that.

Time to put Wally in another room and shut that door until the kids have finished.

I’m amazed that Ralph still has candy that he hasn’t eaten.

If that is Lucy, Wally may regret this.

Ralph has candy available?

Poor kid. The ‘treats’ Ralph is offering can only be stuff he found inedible.
I was thinking dog treats, but then Wally would have picked up on the smell right away.

Sure, if you like candy corn.
