Automatic ice cream maker huh? That wouldn’t be something for you would it, Ralph? So she could make ice cream for YOU. I remember one Christmas when my brother got my mother a blender but they had already discussed getting one, she didn’t want one, had no use for it and we didn’t have room on the kitchen counter for it. So she was rather disgusted with him gifting her one. He ought to have just bought it for himself since he wanted it to make himself smoothies with it.
I buy things I like but can’t justify getting for myself – art supplies, jewelry, etc. Then I give them to spouse so he can give them to me for Christmas. Works great. He doesn’t have to shop and I am always pleased with the gifts from him.
My husband is the worst gift giver. After 41 yrs, I give up. Actually, I gave up years ago. I don’t care about gifts. He’s the best husband I could ask for. I have not put gas in the tank since 2009. I don’t have to grocery shop. He likes doing it. I don’t have to vacuum. He likes doing it. He’s taken care of me through ELEVEN surgeries. He even shaved my legs for me in the shower when I couldn’t bend over after surgery. He puts sox on my feet if they’re cold.He drives me to the quilt shop ( the ladies love him because he gets bolts of fabric down, puts them back, carries stuff, etc) and even to my nail appointments and waits for me because he knows I hate driving. My birthday (74) was this past Monday and I found a package of pink Snoballs on my desk. Best present I could ask for. I rarely get them so this was a nice treat. And, he still works a full time job at the local high school. (I’m 10 yrs older and retired) I know it sounds like he doesn’t have a life of his own, but he does. He’s very involved in local rodeos and horse events. I’m pretty much a rodeo widow from March thru Dec. I don’t mind. I have my quilting and reading. And, we still travel together.

For as long as I’ve been reading this strip, I have said, if I was married to Honeybunch…I wouldn’t be.

Take a hint, you dumb broad. He technically bought it for you, but since he “loves you” so much, HE was planning on getting all the use out of it.

Just don’t get her anything. She won’t like any gift you get her.

Easy peasy! Find a big empty box, wrap it nicely with a big bow. Add a card – For the Woman who has everything.

Get her nothing. She’s a miserable person, and ungrateful.
