Can someone ricochet a slapshot off Gary Bettman’s skull to put an end to his stupidity?

People born on the Gulf Coast must be genetically unable to appreciate hockey. Or, maybe it’s just me. I do admire good ice skating tho. When are the drafts for the next Football season? I think my Saints get to actually pick next time.Who DATT!Respectfully,& perhaps a bit unhinged,C.

Plenty of greed and stupidity to go around. I think it had something to do with getting the players present share of 57% of the gate down to 50%. Millionaires arguing with billionaires over money doesn’t get much of my attention or sympathy. Both side make too much now, and its the fans who are extorted when they take the family out to watch a hockey game.

This sounds like it will be like the Baseball Strike back in the mid-1990s and that once it was over and the damage was done to the fans, it had to take several marketing gimmicks to get the fans back and unfortunately, one of those gimmicks—the race for the home run record—led to the steroids scandal that still plagues Baseball to this day. What will really suffer with the NHL strike, though, will be the minor legue teams like the Pike’s Peak Miners in Colorado Springs and the San Francisco Spiders out there in the Bay Area, where their ticket sales and fan interest increased the longer the lockout went on in the NHL.

It is a good thing the arenas have car shows and concerts to pay some of the cost of upkeep.

One of my favorite Mad Magazine stories was a description of Hockey. It was probably 1968. In one frame, the author said,“This is the goalie. The goalie wears padding on his arms, legs, and chest to protect him from the hockey puck. The goalie wears a mask to protect his face from the hockey puck. There is a two inch gap between the top of the chest padding, and the bottom of the mask. The object of hockey is to put the puck between the bottom of the mask, and the top of the chest padding.”It was evil, but it was hilarious.I think only a couple of more years passed before hockey closed the gap between the mask and the chest padding.and yes…. hockey players are exemplary skaters. Us bayou boys jes kennt ’ppreciate ’em.Respectfully,C.
