NASCAR was started by a bunch of bootleggers in the South. It’s grown beyond that, even though still with an extremely conservative bent. As it’s spread across the country, and even to some overseas venues, NASCAR has at least made an effort to change. Some of their fans, not so much.

One thing NASCAR and the “rebels” do have in common, mostly just running around in circles. (but interestingly turning left)
