Just an aside – I used to be a truck driver and when I drove a trailer full of “chicken” nuggets to be delivered to McDonalds it scared the heck out of me. First of all, I drove a dry van, not a refrigerated truck. Think about the amount of chemicals they would have to induce into the “chicken” to be shelf stable in summer. Secondly, I wondered if there was any meat that could be shelf stable. I swore of McDonalds after that.

Every year I’m astonished that adults give things up for Lent.

My dad gave up being Catholic for Lent many years ago and couldn’t have been happier. It was before I was born so it wasn’t forced on me.

To be perfectly fair, there’s no ham in a hamburger either.
