Sitting on a pillow while meditating is fine. You can buy meditation cushions specially designed for the purpose. But if you meditate lying down, your chakras are no longer vertically aligned; the root chakra is supposed to be at the bottom, and the crown chakra is supposed to be at the top.
I did try meditation but a nap actually works better, especially if what you really need is a nap. Meditation was way oversold and fraudulently by the transcendental meditation business at the end of the 20th century.
