Our town had a all-level family bike ride. My husband went as he is more interested in the scenery than racing, and figured it’d be low key, but the only other people ZOOMED off in their spandex and fancy bikes. What would they have done if an eight year old had arrived on a pink one-speed? “Sorry kid, you’re not a Serious Cycler… you’re on your own.”

I think their legs are muscular because their bike tires are not round.

We have a group that rides a couple of times a week. Some riders are significantly faster than others. Faster riders may ride ahead, but the slower riders will find them a mile or two ahead, waiting at a crossroads.

I won’t say that no one ever gets left behind, but it’s discussed ahead of time, and if a new rider doesn’t know the roads then they won’t get left.

They must spend their whole day bike riding to get legs to look like that. On the trail that my dog and I walk daily, there are numerous bikers, men and women, and none of their legs compare to the legs of those 2 women.
