Just finished going through the archives at

    http://www.moderntales.com/comics/endtown.php?view=toc

Now I feel bad that I didn’t slow down to appreciate the amount of work that 100 weeks took to draw, but the storyline kept me punching the mouse button to get to the next set.

Great job Aaron. Will you be able to wrap that arc by April? Just wondering.

Thanks, Plods with Beer.. I’m deliberately leaving some threads hanging loose as they’ll end up being springboards for new stories, but otherwise, yes.. it’ll be wrapped up (more or less). The final strips have been drawn for that set..

Good bye Aaron, the language you use in this strip just canceled you out.

Language? The language here is NOTHING compared to some other strips…. I love the art, love the story over at ModernTimes. Got directed there from Doc Rat FWIW.

I’m not comfortable with this type of language being used in a media that’s frequented by children either, but I don’t intend to quit reading this comic strip. I am glad that a quality comic has moved in to fill a vacancy in the comic world that has been nearly devastated by the retirement, death or degeneration of so many of the old favorites. Thank you Aaron for providing a fun, enjoyable, well-drawn and imaginative comic strip for the present era.

I’m glad the archives are up, but they’re dated wrong. What GoComics has for 1/19/09 was originally 3/2/09. This leaves a gap in the recent weeks just before the current story arc. Sorry to be so picky, just thought Aaron would want to know.

I’m using FCC prime-time guidelines re: language; nothing worse (and, frankly, far milder) than is heard in an episode of The Simpsons or Family Guy. Although I’m perfectly aware of the prevailing perception of this medium here in the US, Endtown is intended to be read by a general audience and will include the occasional use of mild language. Anyone is completely welcome to cease reading.

@ Arcaton: Thank you! I’m glad to have you here. Doc Rat is excellent!

@ davidf42: Thanks for the kind words! Just FYI, the gap in the archives has been intentionally left empty so as not to spoil things for those who have been following the still-in-progress Modern Tales storyline. Once that’s complete, those strips will be uploaded here.

language? feh. i guarantee kids hear worse on the school bus. having said that, it MIGHT behoove GoComics to do some kind of ratings system, or separate the little kid comics from the big kid comics.

Very cool! Welcome to GoComics, Aaron. As you can tell, it’s an elite group of starving artists.

I agree with all the appreciators of this strip!! I’m about halfway thru the archives, but I LOVE IT so far. By a long shot this is a story with one of the more original voices around here - Buckleylover being another excellent & original voice.

Aaron, have you ever been approached to put together a book? I’d personally love to see these together….and maybe in color even! :)

I am about halfway through the archives also. They are AWESOME!!! Thank you, Aaron, for providing the link a couple of days ago. Don’t worry about the language, little children shouldn’t be reading Apocalypse-type stories. “End of the world” should be too scary for them. Assuming that little kids should be protected from “bad language”, then they should be protected from topics that are too violent/ too scary, too.

Maeverin - I think you’ve got something there. A rating system or a password protected area.

Noreen - I’m with you on that too.

@ Doriation: Thank you! I approached a few publishers myself late last year and found no takers. Hopefully the situation will improve over time because I would prefer to avoid self-publishing.

@ Noreen Rose: Thanks for reading! I agree that a ratings system would certainly help steer people clear who may find the topics and language distasteful (for themselves or their kids). Endtown is PG at worst. We’ll just have to see how things develop.

Aaron, in the May 5, 2009 strip you show Al and Gustine walking through the Wasteland, leaving footprints behind. Al’s footprints have a depression between the 2 footprints. Gustine leaves no footprints, just the strange depression. I feel like there’s a joke here, but I can’t figure it out.

In Thursday’s strip, Catboy says he’s from Hillside. That’s the same city Sparkplug Sanders was in. Any connection here?

This is a very intriguing comic!!! I was just wondering where are the archives? I read the strips from moderntales, but I hear there are more. Could someone advise me where to find the other strips? Thanks!

@ Bronkster & rabbitrose: Thank you both very, very much! That storyline will be finished at Modern Tales and then uploaded to the archives here once complete.

@ davidf42: The round depressions in the 5/5/09 strip are Gustine’s footprints. No gag. And nearly all the characters in the strip are from Hillside, a vast city-state that has served as the setting for practically everything I’ve written for the past twenty-plus years. Any stray ruins left in The Great Waste are all shreds of the same huge city.
