Well, I guess you have to give Flask credit for being willing to put her own neck on the line. Although I suspect that part of the reason Wally is coming along is to provide a distraction to ensure that Flask’s neck doesn’t go on the line.

Have a notion that Flask is only going up top to see them off, and coming back down.

interesting that Flask chose to stand with her feet in one of the basic ballet positions. Does she dance?

Flask actually seems rather happy Though her two companions are skittish The salute by the send-offs is snappy But I can’t help but note that it’s British At least sort-of; their heads are all capless But palm is out, like UK forces Poor Wally sees this, and he’s hapless It’s too late now to choose other courses So he now is committed, and fully We know that he’s brave and resourceful And plans on returning to Holly When (maybe) a bit less remorseful The send-off seems one poor example As leaders, they need some repentance From their looks here, the clues would be ample That the next stage is “carried out sentence” All three teammates are quite Topside-practiced Since the war, each had been up there years And each history here will attract us As they work through guilt, anger, and fears =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 The Endtown Forum

It just hit me: post-apocalyptic world, savage society above keeping humans and mutants hiding underground—Aaron, there wouldn’t happen to be any slight influence here from Cleopatra: 2525, would there?

Each is in a separate capsule. I don’t think they’re all going to the same places. Each has a separate mission.

“Flask, how are we going to get to our different destinations? I saw only one elevator when I got here…”

“You think one elevator’s going to support all the scavenger missions we have to send out to feed everyone here? No, we have a network of pneumatic tunnels to send people out to different areas of the surface.”

    “You mean…?”

I think there is more to Flask. She may be a witch with a capital “B” but she’s no coward. The rats being worried doesn’t bother me as much as Professor Mallard’s worry.

You should be worried people. Here, even having names isn’t enough to rescue you.

I hope that all of them decided to pass on having red shirts as well.

Ohhhh, Very Good artwork Aaron Neathery. You can imagine Wally thinking one word as the doors close: “HOLLY.”

Well that’s the first time I’ve had a sense of Wally’s stature. Guess he’s what we’d call a housecat, and she’s…a leopard? Good thing he’s not her size; otherwise, what kind of relationship could he have with Holly? She’s small enough to fit in his backpack!

Not much of a send-off this time. Al and Gustine went out the front door, with the Mayor giving an incoherent speech and Jacob there to interview them. Even had the obligatory little girl in curls. Now? Servant’s entrance and a bunch of rats.

I’m thinking Flask is a cougar..As for the rats… As much as I find their send-off rather sweet, let’s not forget that if for whatever reason our boy Wally does not make it back, they have his “medical video” as a memento.

I am not too happy about the way the rats and Mallard saluted them. The salute with the palm of the hand showing outward is not used by the United States military; because it represents a nation that has lost some of the wars and battles it has been in. The salute used by the U.S. military has the back of the hand facing outward. This represents the idea that the U.S. hasn’t lost any war that it has engaged in.

    Aaron are you British?

Wow! I knew Flask was tall but I didn’t realize how tall she was until the first panel here. I remember that Wally once asked Holly what it was like to be a 3ft talking mouse, so I assumed Holly was around 3ft and Wally I guess is about 4ft? How big is Flask?

No I don’t look up artist’s nationality or other information; because I believe the artist’s work speaks for itself. Art is still art regardless of the artist. My inquiry as to Aaron being British is because the salute used in the strip is the same I have seen used only by the British military for which I have great respect. This is understandable because of my Canadian and British heritage of which I am proud of. My father served in the RCN aboard the HMRCS Medicine Hat during World War II and both of my uncles served in the RCN and the RCAF during that war.

And it was a member of the U.S. military who provided me with the information on why the U.S. uses the salute it does and other countries use the other form. If the individual has misinformed me; then a simple clarification would have been appropriate. Civility is something that is severely lacking in our society.
