Still unanswered why Flask has a TS gun that still works.

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.Topsiders take brains, so retaliation is just.

Hmm… Wally is left-handed. So is Flask.

I wonder that the gun still recognizes her after her transformation. You would think they would be DNA encoded or something.

Interestingly enough, Flask shoots right-handed as well. Ambidextrous feline.

And she had to see him in action because… why? Flask should know better than anyone that accidents happen: All it takes is one stroke of bad luck, and suddenly they are no longer logistically capable of completing their mission. I’m declaring it once and for all (quote me on it if you like): Flask is a moron.

What gets me is the condescending pat on the head that Flask gives Wally in the third panel. Its seems similar to what a parent would do to a child to show affection. He obviously doesn’t appreciate it.

..I wonder if it’s just easier for Flask to killed captured unarmed people?…

Is Flask challenging Wally to draw on her? I am not certain that Wally is left handed, could be switch handed, but that left draw was neet.

Flask is operating with a powerful revenge motive. This would make her decision making process less hindered by logic. The question is: revenge for what? There is obviously a twist in Flask’s backstory that is (as yet) unrevealed. Mallard has hinted at it on a couple of occasions and PT is connected somehow. I have some hunches, but it will be interesting to see it play out.

Well, look at it this way: Flask needs to get into a Topsider camp undetected, reach the rocket, and do whatever’s necessary to disable it. Her “ace in the hole” is someone that she’s never seen in action. Which makes more sense, testing him now against a low-level threat, or waiting until the big moment and discovering that Wally doesn’t live up to the hype? If Linda and Doug had managed to best Wally and Holly, what good would either of them have been to the final mission against more competent enemies? I doubt that Flask would have let either one get hurt or killed if it got that far, but this way she knows more about how Holly and Wally work under pressure. She can have more faith in them both now. As for po’ing Wally and having him turn on her – Keep in mind that neither Wally nor Holly have been in a TS camp before, and they want to keep Flask alive for the mission, too. They expect the fur to fly AFTER they return to Endtown, assuming if they do.

A few thoughts: Regarding Flask and her gun: Do the guns need a brain to work? This seems unlikely. The TS may just use the brains for advanced functionality. Perhaps Flask’s gun doesn’t have a living brain, and so no advanced, personalized security features.

Regarding what to do with Doug: I agree stunning and mutating would be the most humane, but Doug may not agree. It would be really nice to have a good TS “insider” join endtown, but Doug may decide to do what he could to sabotage Endtown and expose them to get revenge.

Regarding Flask’s Strategy: I agree that she was a bit cavaleer with Wally and Holly’s lives. It was understandable for her to need to see them in action, but I would take TSOJ’s comments one step further. From what I’ve seen of Flask’s attitude, I’d guess if Wally didn’t “live up to the hype,” she might have just let the topsiders kill him. If he’s not good enough for her on this mission, she may not see any reason to protect him at all.

If they’d proved less use, she may have saved them for future expenditure. That’s all she brought them for. Soldiers are like ammo. Her weapon may work because she’s a Topsider plant. In which case she could have already revealed the location of Endtown. But that would have told Ducky who the spy was. Then she’d sabotage the mission at the last minute & blame it on the amateurs. To keep the storyline going the satellite’s brain sides with the mutants.

Flask’s gun gets a vote too — it may not fire.

Left handed people or maybe an artwork reflected in creation artifact?

She is diminishing and diss’ing Wallys accomplishments so that when the reward comes she has reason to oppose it. Though the real opposition would be to come back alone.

Here is my theory. Flask used to be a TopSider. She was contaminated while asleep/unconscious. She escaped after mutation and joined Endtown. This could explain her TopSider weapon and her uniform, at least to a degree. There must be many additional details, but I have not thought it thru to that degree.
