The mood of this story now is the quiet of the grave. I can’t see ahead. I can only wait and trust. Remember – we are being told a story. The story teller will not forsake us. Serious business, now, people. Aaron Neathery takes on the production of this world-class comic for our own entertainment, and it’s a full-time job. He still gets very little income from it, but he continues to do it because he has faith in its future success, and I for one support this faith. We all are desperate to see how this story will end and (I hope) the next chapter will start. But none of this will continue if Neathery has to lay down his pens because he is too sick to work, or if he can’t go on because of medical bills. Well, he’s recently had a bad infection, and now he’s recovering with some complications. And he’s still producing Endtown for us, because he believes in it, and he he believes in himself, and he believes in us. I don’t know how long he can keep up this effort. Neathery has medical bills hanging over his head, and I don’t think I need to go into what this means. Please, if you were ever going to support him, get him through and help be a part of the future when Endtown is a household word, then the time to help him is now. Contact him. Commission him. Buy your favourite Endtown strip. Like Wally and co, in the darkest hour, be an Endtown hero.(Note: The views and statements here are mine and mine alone. Aaron Neathery has not in any way suggested I make this appeal, and I will apologise and withdraw this posting if it causes offense. I have put this here as a concerned friend and colleague, on the assumption that it is the right thing to do in the circumstances.)

The drawing here is wonderful. Especially that caught-in-the-headlights look on Flask in the first panel and Wally’s reflection in the windshield in panel two. Flask appears to be out of order for the duration, but Wally is actively looking and thinking. Very well done.

Anybody else think we might have a new head of security at the end of this story arc?

looks like Linda is still in school. Fask? wonder what she is thinking, if she is thinking. and how is Pete doing with his current problem with aerodynamics.

Petey is still out there. Wally is, again, the first to look around him. Linda is about to break, maybe. Flask is broken. Hot dang, this is riveting. I’m starting to wonder if Flask will be coming back after all…

Linda Kowalski can suddenly see How the Endtowners learned to view one such as she Your genes much be “perfect” (I’ll bet that they’re not: A DNA test might get Topsiders shot) But Linda and Topsider occupy time While she’s being taught that imperfect’s a crime The sentence pronounced (or alluded to, sly) But it’s clear enough that they’re going to die In the meantime, the yakking has our crew’s attention Outside, they’re surrounded with evil intention If Petey got loose and now watches this scene It’s maybe his time, the “god in the machine” =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

“Pine Valley?” That’s two dellusions for the price of one! There hasn’t been a pine tree or a valley around these parts for years. Move ON, people! :-)

I’ve been re-reading the entire “Countdown” arc ( and some previous strips as well ) and (though it seems quite unimportant at the moment ) I think I know who Petey actually is. There has been a lot of speculation about Flask being Petey’s mother, and for a long time I thought they had to be spouses (or some sort of significant others). Now I am convinced that the parent / child relationship is the right one, but not as it has been being proposed. Petey is Flask’s father! Flask’s initial reaction to him made it obvious that they were very close, most likely family. But Petey’s vocabulary, his demeanor, his mannerisms all point to an adult, and the more I look at them the more obvious that he was an older adult. He repeatedly adopts the role of mentor or councillor to the other individuals he interacts with, and Flask’s treatment of him on this mission is spot on with that of an adult child to an older parent. I don’t know what it portends for the current situation, but I sense Petey has a very important to play yet.

I wish I could help, but I’m in the middle of my own money crunch here. I did buy the comic some time ago, but that money is probably long gone by now.

Is there any hope for the mutant to return to their former form again? Is there a chance to everything back to normal again? I know there is a moral story but I didn’t like sad ending. I’m hoping for a happy ending. I also hope that Aaron the creator is ok.
