The events of the last couple weeks seem almost more suited for the telling of a story at the beginning of its arc, rather than towards the end of one. It feels a little late in the current arc for something this big, new and not-yet-seen to be brought into the storyline without resolving some of the very large, unresolved emotional gaps left-over from the ‘mission’ storyline first. Still want to see how this turns out, but it feels like some momentum has been sacrificed.

As for the arc, I’d guess that ship was hidden by the dittos in the page of September 10th, 2009…

Why would it look like a boat? They apparently were not lacking materials or manpower to make a frame, now im just confused ><

On the Top Webcomics, Endtown 2.0 is ranked 117, with 411 votes. The comic at ranking 100 has 551 votes. If, say, ten more Endtown readers were to vote every day, we could get there. Click on the link on any of Level Head’s postings (even yesterday’s). I’ll try to organise it soon so I can put the same links on my posts.

There is still so much we don’t know about what happened here. Consider this: The TSers surrounded a PT which turned out to be a ditto construct. This means they DID NOT surround the real PT with our heroes in it. Yet, on Jan 24 we see Linda screaming in frustration inside a PT surrounded by many others. The only possible explanation that does not involve a matter transporter ( and if the airship had that capacity, why net Petey?) is that the PTs that surrounded our heroes were ditto constructs as well. The only reason (it would seem) to do THAT would have been to keep our heroes from escaping once they realized that the TSers had surrounded something else. Ergo, our heroes weren’t rescued, rather they were trapped and captured. The dittos distracted the TSers to keep them from interfering.

Darn heavy machinery for a lighter than air vessel… Looks like some kind of mining operation.

    Let’s see:

What happened to our heroes and where are they? What happened to the real rocket? Why did the dittos get involved?Where are the dittoes now? What is this airship about and who controls it?Is Flask still out of it or is she back in “control” of herself? (Was she ever really out of it?)How will Linda handle the seperation from her family?

Any other open ends that need closing?

Wow, Level Head has usually posted by the time I see the new strip. Having trouble finding an appropriate parody? This one did take an unexpected turn. Something Heavy Metal would probably be appropriate. :-)

hmm… this could be inside the ship, (though I highly doubt it). most likely, this is where the ship was heading. (which would explain why it’s so much bigger than the ship.

or, they are in the ship, but the ship that was seen was only an illusion.

Well, my guess would be some kind of mining or collecting setup. If you think about it, the dust covering the Great Waste is what’s left of everything that used to be. It must be a mixture of organic and inorganic materials in some form. If the previously existing stuff was merely pulverized, you could theoretically develop a process to treat the dust to at least extract the metallic elements, say by heating it maybe? The possibilities are potentially endless. It is certainly a plentiful and easily accessible resource. Speculating is fun, but I think I’ll let Aaron show us a bit more first.

I’ve been caught in a net of my own In a project too large to be thrown But I’ve now gotten free And based on what I see I’m engaged, and will try to atone. No one’s noticed the big-numbered bin That our Petey’s been dropped rudely in When I saw it, I smiled For it’s seemingly styled Like the “3” on our Petey-bot’s tin Who would number creations that way? Well, the robot (way back in the day) Was made by the Prof So all bets are off But I think that he’ll enter this fray For the style here is low-tech, and weird And it’s seemingly Prof Mallard-geared But if it’s Sparkplug S. Behind all this mess Then things here are worse than I feared =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum
