Thanks to everyone who has bid so far! And endless thanks also to TSOJ, without whose help the Auction Block would still be weeks and weeks away.. I’ll go ahead and repost for those readers who aren’t yet in the know:
Okay, folks.. Here’s my new scheme to help keep Endtown alive: The Endtown Auction Block.
I’ll be auctioning off four original strips and one brand-new color drawing a week, all with very low starting bids. I haven’t seen this done before for a webstrip, and maybe there’s a reason for that.. but it seems worth a try. Please drop by and take a look.. Thanks, all! :-)
Well, I guess the Topsiders think their missiles have obliterated the flying ship, and now they’ll leave our friends alone. I hope our friends got out alright, and not a split-second too soon. And Linda’s probably wishing she’d brought something to drink.
By the way, thank you to everyone for your concern over the Doc Rat site, which may have been affected by this global virus. I got my webmaster to fix it on the first day. There are still some issues being reported, and he will continue to work on it, although he has just nipped over to San Diego for a short while.
That 3rd panel looks like a brain with nerve endings… ;) Looks like there might have been some damage with missle 1 and 2 – maybe shrapnel floating around the sky in panel 4? And now Linda looks at the cooler and says “Guess it’s just you and me kid…” and strolls towards town…
Ok so I am not the brightest bulb when it comes to computer stuff. I went to The Endtown Auction Block, registration required, so I registered. Then tried to get back to TEAB and it now says I need an invitation to get there. I didn’t need one before I registered, why now?
Ok, so apparently there is a time delay. Still don’t know if I did everything right, but at least I can get back to the auction, and that’s all that counts.
Well….yesterday I mentioned the missile trails but it appears that the ship did the transfer a nanosecond BEFORE the first one reached it. Hence, the appearance of missile #1 hitting the bow and passing through the cargo hold and blowing out the stern. Critical timing, critical timing.
“And thanks to Jenner and TSOJ for permission to quote them on the twitter feed!”To be honest, the quote-worthy people are Jenner and Level Head. I don’t say stuff that people want to repeat.
Welcome to Endtown, Benton! The family of posters here pretty much circles the globe, so between work hours and time zones, there are periods during the day when things do slow down. The important thing is that everyone is welcome, especially new faces! Enjoy the ride!
Yes, I read that today at Pibgorn (which comes before this strip in my GC line up). A crying we can’t comment on it anymore (as well as its sister comic, 9CWL) because of a stupid thing someone did to one of the strips.
I admire the special effects-like artwork. I think they did escape. Something tell me Petey and Holly (when she wakes up) are going to wonder they’re headed to next (as well as us) sans Flask, Linda, and the brain in the cooler.
SurfStuff, I am really sorry about this, but I can’t say yet whether Doc Rat really if free from viruses. Wolf the Wonder Webmaster is in the USA on business and has not replied to my e-mails since he hopped onto the ‘plane.I believe that iPhones are less susceptible to viruses, so I am accessing my site that way without problems. Everybody, I don’t want to give you the plague. If your computer warns you off, then believe it, until further notice. You can always make up for lost time when Doc Rat is better.
Another thought is that since the missiles are targeting the ship’s mass, if that mass suddenly disappeared then there’d be nothing for them to lock onto.Given that the ship can block radar, visual sightings, and sound, maybe it can block mass detection too, but that it just doesn’t want to. Or, maybe the ship’s not really there, and it’s just been a ditto construct all along. The group really has been on the ground all along, with the dittos just making them think they were in a ship…

WOW. I see they did do a warp speed type thing, but did anyone get killed or injured yesterday? I bet Linda is going to worry about being stranded.

That looked very Lovecraftian. “Take us to Warp 5, Mr. Cthulhu.”

The third strip looks like a rip in the space-time continuum.

If anyone is going to be attending San Diego Comicon, please stop by at Booth 2001, to meet my smiling webmaster, Wolf, at Gestalt Publishing.
