Announcing the latest Endtown Auction Block auction! You may have noticed that Aaron hasn’t been so visible lately – that’s because he’s busy getting ready for the Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. So, he’s asked me to prep this week’s auction. We’ve got two great offerings this time (I know, they’re always great; well, these are two of the greater ones) – a dapper-looking Mallard, and Sparkplug Sanders facing the onslaught of WW III. Please be generous – your bids help keep Endtown running.

I don’t know if it’s the paranoid panda in me, but something about “I love you, just trust me” and a seemingly surefire plan during a dangerous, secret rendezvous makes me suspicious… I wonder if Petey2b is going to try and use Flask to get back at the Topsiders? Or maybe he’s going to try and get her to mutate and run away with him?

I got the impression that Philomena’s mutation was unintentional – partly because she knew of a weak spot in the suit, and because she must have been “out” when she changed to avoid being monstrous…

Her mutation may have been her choice. After losing her love she may have tried to end it but ended up like she is. Her lover may have tried to control the change. After all Al had Gustine and she was a rhino. He may have been ready to take that. After all what we are is inside. The outside is just decorations. Given her status as a high ranker in the Topsiders her genetics must have been good. That is probably why when she changed she as she put it maintained her figure. Remember Linda shrunk to a Koala. Wally shortened when he changed. Flask is still tall, statuesque, and in my opinion striking. I have a thing for that type. She has issues but issues can be worked out.

And on a side note on my post yesterday I spelled it wrong. It was the great classic Soylent Green. Sorry new computer with a different key board shape. But I still hold to the opinion. What do Topsiders consume to stay alive given their phobia for the virus

Flask held death to be preferable to mutation. Therefore she could not have agreed to any plan that she knew would involve mutation. Also, if Petey2B had caused her mutation without her knowledge, I can’t believe she would have retained her feelings for him, it would have been (to her) the ultimate betrayal. When she was toying with Linda, she said that she could count on one hand the number of times a biosuit had failed “in the field”. This implies (to me at least) that it was unintentional. “Failed” carries the connotation that the suit didn’t do something it was supposed to. If her intention had been to actually mutate, it would have been simpler to just give him the spray bottle of sealant remover than to have him have to search for this heretofore undiscovered flaw. Anyway, that’s my take on it right now. I know where we are headed, but the pathway to get there from this point remains a mystery. Anxiously waiting for tomorrow, as always!;-)

well…interesting to find out what makes Flask tick. It will be more interesting to find out all of her “deal”, as AM put it. It’s getting curiouser and curiouser……

“I was up earlier and read this. At 6AM, all the break up ice cream in the world didn’t help!”

LOL And we’re still at the hopeful part!

Don’t know if I’d call that love.If you don’t have a belief in success, I can guarantee you will have nothing but failure. If it’s love we’re talking about I’d say that it is the way of true love to accept the Loved One despite the failure. You don’t accept the failure, you accept the Loved One.

Sleeping gas was probably one of the many weapons used during The End, and there may still be pockets of it in some of the ruins (or some other gas). So the suits probably have built-in protections against it, such as sensors, enhanced filters (as you say) or counter-agents to inject into the blood stream. The two primary things that seem to work well against Topsiders in general are freeplay ray guns and fire hydrants.
