Sounds like Holly has been in trouble before.

I just spent the whole day going over all the story I had missed. I only became a member in July of 2011. What a wonderful trip. I intend to take that walk through the past often. Shame I couldn’t make comments on the previous bits of this story. I would have had SO much fun!!!Well Wally is into a hassle again. I just saw him through the fight with the Tsrs, Allie, a catniped cat, Holly, the Doctor, and now THE rats. I am sure he is taking the worse of it. I agree with Serfstuff55 that there is a new member being delivered. I recognize the “attitude” of the body?My first experience as a student nurse was to watch the MD trying to give the poor lady a coddle for pain when I kept trying from my position at the base of the bed to tell him the baby was already born. He FINALLY heard me in time to catch the lovely little boy. I was not allowed to touch, or I would have. Sigh.Blessed Be

Should’a remembered there would be someone else besides Wally who’d’ve been upset by this…and Endtown might think twice about alienating a guy who might be their only M. D. by arresting his beloved stepdaughter…

Not really sure what the doctor is patterned after either.A bear? an angry bear? some mutations the person doesn’t even know what they are. half goat half pig? a squirrel the size of a german shepherd?the poor patient looks like is having a pelvic exam. so much for bedside manners.

Couldn’t locate “Golden Guide to Exotic Animals by S. Skeba,” though there is a series of Golden Guides and an S[outh] Skeba Road in Lake Leelanau, Michigan.

Did I break any rules, or were you referring to our dear Dr. Tapir?

As Doc Chase heads for the door, Wally walks in triumphantly, Holly hoisted up on his shoulders, bragging about how he threw the rats around in his crusade to rescue his sweetheart!

More likely the patient has big feet. Hard to deliver a baby or do a pelvic exam with a large foot board in the way!

Who’s the kid with the emergency?

“Doc, how did you find out your adopted daughter, Holly, was in trouble?”“A little birdy told me.”

It is a far gone conclusion that Wally is back in the hospital.

When I am going to see my GP I say “I am going to see the Vet”.

He overheard me say that one time and told me that “No, I am not as good as the Veterinarian doctors. I work on one species and the vets work on at least 10 and all their differing sub-species. On the other side of the coin, the Vets do not have to put up with the hypochondriacs or those that are just looking for drugs they really do not need or insurance and government forms that change every two or three months whether they need to or not.”

TSOJI think it will be the other way around. Holly will be carrying Wally over her shoulder after she got released on bond and he got his butt kicked taking on the rats. If only HE had waited???But back to the story.I think he has been called to the Emergency room for an incoming patient. WALLY. Wally got his answer. BUTT OUT! Doc may be unaware of Holly’s situation as of now. But after this he will know.Those are feet. Its a hospital bed. Two lumps for toes. A camel? (Maybe, just guessing like you ALL will)

Remember, everyone’s human, even if the doctor says otherwise, because he can’t tell if you’re an egg-laying mammal or a kimono dragon with a scale rash in the shape of Ed Grimley.

I don’t see how the nurse can whisper in his ear without puncturing the side of his head.

That was one of the things I was wondering about when the topic of eating the eggs came up, how much of the body is still human and how much is the animal they resemble. From the strip today it seems that medically they’re more like the animals they resemble even though there’s still human traits.

I think the zoo vets were among the first to go when the apocalypse began.

I believe the doctor is patterned after a mole. But whatever he is, he certainly would be a valuable ally.

I also suspect that the ‘kid’ he is referring to is Linda, not Holly.

Now…if this patient starts attacking windmills we’d know to look in the “Golden Guide of Quixotic Animals”.

I’d guess Holly, since it’s been said that the doc has been watching over her for some time. Also more likely that gossip about her would spread quicker than about Wally since he’s still a relative newcomer. But…we’ll soon see. :-)

I remember Cerebus. I followed the exploits of the Earth-Pig born through most of his career; but the writer’s vision became less accessible to me…so I stopped. Never finished reading the series.

Well, even if there’s no “official” announcement of the arrests, there’s still the rumor mill. The guys in Maude’s apartment probably didn’t stop talking after telling Wally. Maurice, either.

I’m going to guess it’s Wally outside in the waiting room that told he nurse about Holly. If I’m right, it still means Wally is keeping his senses about him and hs recruited a powerfu ally.Has everyonenotice that so far in this story, the only menton of Jake Jackrabbit has een by the readers? Will he show up?

Damn it he’s a doctor, not an Encyclopedia salesman! Someone get him 2 aspirin!

My money is on Holly. Doc says “that kid”. He didn’t know Wally or Linda as a kid, but Holly fits the bill. And the “emergency” doesn’t necessarily mean in the hospital. Plus he’s seen Holly “in trouble” . . . that’s how he viewed Wally early on.

I believe to kid the Dr.is refering to is Wally…because isn’t the Doc. Holly’s stepfather? So, I would think Wally would go to him first to tell him what has happened to Holly and move from there. JMHO.

I do wonder why there are no Veterinarians that mutated? It sure would be helpful for all the Endtowners. The Doctor and the Veterinarian could partner up.

Thanks, I base it on that Doc has no idea Holly has been seized. Its not apparently “public” information. Rumors may be spreading but Doc is at work and very busy. No time for idle conversations. Holly was last seen going to work. Leaving work heading for Maude was only seen by the Chef. He told Wally she headed for Maude. When Wally got there residents informed him Holly was taken. Wally checked the info kiosks for info. He found none. His next step for him was to go talk to Security and find out what happened. I don’t think he got the answer he was looking for. Knowing Wally he can get fired up which I believed he did. Result was a can of whoop ass being opened. Bean flavored with a rat spicing. The elevator came back down with Wally beaten, battered, concussion, so his friend still waiting below took him to the ER.Why would Holly, Linda, or Maude be taken to the ER in town. I imagine the jail has its own medical facility. Doc has examined folks up there before. (When he checked out Linda it was in Security).Doc does not have a clue (but he is now going to get one) Holly is even missing. Doc is connected. He has to be connected and respected given his position and status in Endtown. If anyone can get an answer (which we already know why this is happening) he can.Wally just got too impatient and mistakenly figured “they” owed him some answers. The conversation went from talking to butt kicking in a few minutes. Wally probably gave as good as he got but in the end the numbers would win out. AND knowing the rats (when they took Jackrabbit into custody) they have no problem striking from behind.(I mean would you take on an angry cat straight up? I would look for an advantage;-)

Yes and maybe an arm slinged, bandaged leg, black eye, dental work needed. Heck you know Wally. :-))Some Aleve would be advisory.

He may have to have his jaw wired shut too. For his sake and especially for the Endtown Three.

Well gotta go for now sport fans.I would have loved to seen the fight up there. I hate for Wally to get banged up but that gives him that heroic, romantic air. (What a way to impress some girl all before Valentines Day)(Just kidding. Eheheheheh! In an old closing “That’s All Folks”)

TSOJ would understand how I feel today.. let’s just say that if there truly is a South Skeba road in Lake Leelanau, Michigan, I may have to visit to see if I have relatives there..Thanks again Aaron, for making my day. And all my zoo critters miss you..
