I think we saw a face to face, eyes to eyes, connection. He’s seeing her not just a them embodiment of his less than ideal person or in out terms he saw he the way a member of one partisan " Lib/Con" party, but as another real " sentient being/ soul, equal and part of, himself"I would love it if he would say “come here Linda, I don’t want to have you killed, I’m sorry”. And since Linda saw him the same way, if she said “OK, but you have to Help me!”And Jake, who has been looking on with interest, shouting “It’s the Counsel! It’s been overthrown!” and he whips out a little derringer and….! I got carried a way. Sorry.

Somehow, if the townfolk take up Linda’s cause, the phrase “I am Linda”, is not as charged as “I am Spartacus”.

This is not a planned, dramatic pause in his oration. Allgood has suddenly had a realisation that has changed his entire train of thought. He would have done better to have studied his briefing material more carefully during his preparation. Is it possible he may have had the witness’ file supplied to him only a short time before her appearance?I think Allgood was not aware until this very moment Linda is a recent Topsider mutant. He is going to change his line of approach immediately – literally on his feet. He will make it up as he goes along. A very dangerous development. Which way will he take it? Back-pedalling, careful deconstruction or tirade? Is this the devious way the council had planned it to happen? Will Allgood lose his cool, Linda lose hers, the screaming match be broadcast through the town and rioting and death be the end result?Mr Neathery is playing this very close to his chest. I cannot guess, but Ineither can I resist playing out all the scenarios in my head.Once again, dear readers, we are part of the real-time experience of the telling of a genius’ work of fiction. The writing, drawing and unfolding is happening here and now. No-one else will experience the unique, exquisitely uncomfortable and thrillingly addictive experience of one of the greatest comic strips in the world as we do – at the cutting edge.

Aaron is the master of the Friday suspense… until the books come out.

Speaking of the books: Do you have volumes 1 & 2? Do you want to get volumes 3 & 4 in the same format… Then you better preorder or plan to buy from Aaron or Jarlidium directly at a convention. I preordered mine and was told I’m number 38. Out of a limited run of 150, with only 100 being available for pre-order. According to Jarlidium the prices to print and sell that format went up so there will only be a limited run of them made and sold.

Check out the order page: http://www.jarlidium.com/preorder.html for more details on what’s up with the books, format, and most especially to order your limited edition now.

I think Allgood may be feeling twinges of conscience. I’m assuming that, given the way he’s worded things in the 4th panel on Thursday and the second panel today that he knows that Linda used to be a Topsider. It may have just occurred to him that if he says this he could very well be handing Linda a death sentence. As much as he loves his cause, he really doesn’t want to see these three killed. I suspect that he hasn’t quite accepted that things are not going to his plan, that the Milk Three could be executed. He hopes that they can just be convicted, “helped” and returned to normal society. He may be suddenly realizing that spilling the beans on Linda will make her a target, she may not survive her first 24 hours among the general population.

Okay… So Linda was a topsider. So she has experience with hunting down and harvesting mutant brains…But maybe…just maybe…Allgood is starting to realize that the only one who has been demeaning and dehumanizing mutants the whole time is none other than Octavius Allgood. All because she figured out how to make a chocolate cake in these post-apocalyptic conditions.WHO WOULDN’T WANT A PIECE OF CHOCOALTE CAKE ONCE IN A WHILE?!!!

TSOJ, they just missed it I got it and ran with McCarthy. That is a quote from his hearings. He left you no wiggle room. Yes or No and it did not matter he had PROOF but you cant see it as it was for his eyes only.My complaint against him is after he went after folks like Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd those like that. They all left the country taking their art and movies with them because of McCarthy and the “BLACKLISTS”. Just think back to the last time you seen a Charlie Chaplin movie.

I wonder if Allgood might just have realized that Linda was his wife/girlfriend before the war? We’ve heard of Linda’s son, but nothing of any male who might have been her husband/boyfriend type. Is it possible that Allgood just now figured it out based on where she’s from? That might not have been in the dossier he was given before the trial? Just a thought…

They are operating the camera, feed control room, mike booms, it is a guess but that’s what they would probably do. Guards are stationed there too probably just outside the door. Don’t want an accidental camera swing to show armed Rats standing about.

I think Allgood just realized that he has flipped his agenda on its head, as he is the one who is suppose to be anti-mutant, so, if anything, by his own comment, she ought to be the perfect fellow traveler, not adversary. Now he is going to have to choose how to vilify her to the public yet defend his own position.

I said this before, and I’ll say it again.Allgood stopped reading because he saw something from the corner of his eye.If it’s related to his speech, then he was just about to give away Linda’s Topsider past which might violate the previous HC’s seal of secrecy. Therefore, he could either be looking at Velda walking in through the door, or be staring at armed rats with orders to shoot him if he proceeds. If it’s not related to the speech, then it’s an outsider that made their way past security. Since the only ones with a vested interest in the trial are Wally, Walter and Doc Chase, they’d be the most likely 3. But, Chase wasn’t allowed to see the HC before, and Wally would probably get into a fight at the elevator again. That leaves Walter coming in to parley. My money is on the lizard that helped Linda get dressed to enter Endtown, because it’s unexpected, and it shows that not everyone in Security agrees with the way the HC is acting.

Suddenly I think all my previous conjectures about Linda’s testimony are wrong. Allgood’s comment about her attitude toward mutants made him realize that she treated mutants in some sense as humans treat animals, and therefore embodies the human values that Allgood and his secret benefactor are promoting. I think that is what Allgood’s expression in the final panel is meant to represent, an epiphany.-Or it could just be indigestion.-Or maybe Allgood is projecting Linda’s disdain for Allgood as disdain for mutants in general.

Since some of you obviously doubt there really were Communist spies in the US government, here’s five names. Be assured that I can name many more.#Julius Rosenberg, worked at Los Alamos on the atom bomb project, and saw to it that details were handed to the Soviet Union. Caught, executed.#Alger Hiss, conducted espionage, first at the Agriculture Department, then at State, where he eventually emerged as an agent of influence. Accused, sent to jail for perjury (the statute of limitations on espionage having expired), defended himself against the accusations to the bitter end, but accusations confirmed after his death with details from Soviet archives.#Harry Dexter White, big wheel at the Treasury and sometimes called the creator of the International Monetary Fund. Passed information to the Soviets during World War II; died of a heart attack after being grilled by the House Un-American Committee.#Solomon Adler, consulted on China matters by Treasury and State; his influence over a loan to Nationalist China may have led to the Communist takeover. Skipped to China.#Noel Field, worked for State till going into humanitarian concerns in Europe before and during World War II, devout Communist. Experienced gratitude by being put at the center of a show trial in Czechslovakia.
