Uh oh this won’t end well!

Brain Salad Surgery……..I think we are about to see her Schism. Remember traumatic events can trigger it. I would consider a tire tool to the head pretty traumatic.

Poor woman. All he wants to do is help, but all she can see is “wolf”.

Street sweeper, huh? What’s the logo on his uniform?

I’m speechless, this does not bode well for her mental state. Richard Barton may be onto where she is headed. And… it ain’t going to be pretty.

When everyone first mutated, they were humans with animal shapes, but perhaps the mutations weren’t finished. Genetic changes may be continuing, making people more animal genetically and psychologically, including predator and prey instincts. If atavism is growing, then hopefully Mallard has recognized it and is working to correct it. That may be why the food situation isn’t resolved yet. Feeding everyone is moot if everyone sees each other as food regardless, and stopping the latter would be the priority.

Too true, Erwin Schwartz. And when Dottie hears about it, it’s going to get even worse.

Suggestions on what went on in that alley from closing time to early morning? That’s, what – 6-8 hours?

At least she’s alive. I thought the attacker was intent on murder.

Yeah, no wonder she would be traumatized and fearing wolves.

I still think her attacker had horns visible separate from the visible ears, and was disguised as a wolf. It may have been an actual sheep in wolf’s clothing.

Several of you have suggested that she’s going into “schism syndrome,” and I suppose we have more than enough circumstantial evidence to support that. At which point, I’d like to cry “Foul!” // I wanted to cry “foul” back with Jim of Jim and Sarah fame. Perhaps it was because I had become somewhat emotionally invested in him: A really selfless guy who sacrificed an awful lot for another human being. On top of that, it was a chance to see inside the “topsider” world, and through the eyes of a not-so-evil person. Oh, I had my hopes up so high for that. // But all we got was a pyromaniac bent on destroying everything in sight. Granted, he was mentally ill at the time he played with matches, or was it, his match (Sarah) set him on fire (figuratively). // At any rate, the horse going into “schism syndrome” doesn’t bode well for her, to be sure, but I think it bodes worse for us: We will never get to know what is going on in her mind once she flips out. // Just like we never got to know what was going on in Jim’s mind – other than he flipped out.

Schism Syndrome is an issue for the newly mutated (which is why Jim fell victim to it). Endtown went through it’s Schism period years ago. This poor woman is simply traumatized by a combination of recent events, a high stress atmosphere and being beaten senseless.

One of the more frustrating things about Endtown is that we are constantly being shown small pieces of a much bigger picture, but they seldom, if ever, come in such a way as to be easily fit together. Think of a jigsaw puzzle. All the pieces are in the box and they are all essential to forming the complete picture. What we are experiencing is like having someone else open the box and start handing us pieces of the puzzle one or two at a time. We get a piece of the sky, then a piece of a tree, then something that looks like a jumble of colors. Once in a great while we get an edge piece, but so far only a few of the pieces have matched up and since we are not privy to the final big picture, it’s very hard to orient those little groups to each other and their proper place in the finished picture. Eventually more pieces will match up and the picture will start to make sense, but we are still dealing with disjointed fragments. Endtown demands patience and perseverance, and therefore regularly drives me bananas! ;-)

Like I said, I think that this whole thing is a frame job. Poor woman is going to be a pivotal piece in it, but the ones pulling the strings want her to be physically out of the action so that she doesn’t go around PROTECTING pigs

My apologies. The clunky Go Comics interface, along with the limited amount of time I have to look at comics, I have been missing those nuances in the fourth panel of these comics.

It now occurs to me that perhaps Friday’s attack never happened, that it was just imaginary. (The shadows were so dark that, in my hurry, I didn’t even see the “attacker” until reading about it in the comments) But if today’s “attacker” is imaginary, and our victim is still healthy as a horse, perhaps everything since the confrontation (in which a pig lost her eye) is a figment of her imagination.

Not to criticize her, mind you. The attack at her laundry shop was very real – and traumatic, especially when her friend lost her eye.

It’s just that now, it looks like everyone’s losing their minds.

This is the stuff of night mares.
