But…is there a lizard and a chick in the book? At 64 pages, it seems to contain a lot of story. If Duffy is already in the book, what else does he want? I wonder if we’ll get to see more of the comic.
Duffy freaked badly when Hines says he killed his brother. Raven dude said he’d get him back. “I” implied Holly would die… So what if this is now off script.
It’s time to revisit the comic book and get a look inside. Please don’t leave us hanging without a peek inside the book to learn more about their cartoon existence.
So, the Endtown-verse is a ficton. A ficton, according to Robert A. Heinlein, is a universe created by a work of popular literature and/or culture. In Heinlein’s fictons, screwy things happen. (See his The Number of the Beast or on second thought, don’t bother. Although a flying car/spacecraft like _Gay Deceiver would be a really nice touch.)
But…but… If Duffy isn’t already associated with Wally in the comic book, then what would Duffy’s connecting with Wally in “real-life” do? Does he expect the story in the book to change? There’s already an example of their “reality” being off-script with the absence of the mouse. I stick by my earlier comment about structuring one’s life around a comic book…it’s only going to be disappointing.
So each story arc has a couple: baked-beans foragers, rhino and mate, cat and mouse, then Kirbee became the “new Holly” in this story arc? What changes is what folks are willing to die for or sacrifice to save others.(Duffy should be careful what he wishes for. There’s always room for throwaway stock characters like: “the not-so-secretly-vulnerable-tough-guy-wannabe-Kid-from-Brooklyn-who-makes-the-audience-cry-when-he-gets-killed-while-saving-the-gang”.)

Hmmmm…..seems he’s selected to not tell Wally the real reason is to get his brother back.

Looks like Wally will be adding another member to his family.

Wally and family can use a back up especially if he really knows anything of value.

Mutation has lionized him, and now he wants to be lionized for his role in this drama.

They may not be able to leave without Duffy’s information!

They can add him to their little family group. He can be the brother-that-Chick-never-had, or maybe the crazy uncle…

So in the comic book, Duffy and Wally may have no relationship…or maybe even a bad one? Looking to change the ending are we?
