Duffy has decided to be judge, jury and executioner, even though he doesn’t truly know that this Topsider had anything to do with his brother’s disappearance. Kid, stop wanting to slash first and ask questions later — grow up!!
Wally will disarm him, of course, being much more experienced in combat and knowing more of the stakes at hand here.
As Alikgator said, Duffy likely doesn’t know about the possible results of puncturing the biosuit. We don’t know if the Topsider is unconscious or merely stunned, so puncturing the suit could have disastrous consequences.
Knowing how weird this series can be, what are the odds that Duffy was aiming for Wally and not the topsider, for reasons that are unknown to us at the moment?
You know…..I’m wondering if Duffy was going after Wally. Remember Duffy wants to be the lead in this story. He wants his brother back which Wally has not been informed. Imagine the fame he thinks he would get if he brought this Topsider in. The suit cannot be cut or punctured by common edged devices like knives or needles. Duffy should know that as basic info on Topsiders. Wally knows that so taking Duffy down meant nothing as that Wally knows the Topsider could not be hurt that way. I think Duffy was going after Wally.
A. There is no mutigenic plague. We have been informed of this.
B. People are being exchanged with those in alternate realities.
C. We are dealing with 3 realities: 1> Human reality where Endtown takes place. 2> Cartoon reality, the source of our cartoon beings who are swapped with humans. (Wally and company) 3> Monster reality. (where concious humans exchanges take place).
D. Eden is a cooperative research facility run by Humans who turned up in the cartoon reality when the swaps occurred. The topsider who dropped in is one of the researchers trying to figure out how to stop the swaps and how to return those who have been swapped to the correct reality.
E. Amesworth radiation is the cause/source of the reality leak and the biosuits protect from the radiation, keeping the wearer in their correct reality.
F. What we have not seen are the events taking place in the cartoon and monster realities. Picture the life of the humans that are now trapped there. Particularly the humans that are now living in the monster reality (if they survive the monsters)
Looking at Wally’s grip on Duffy’s arm in the last panel, it appears that it would be relatively ineffective at preventing Duffy from stabbing him. And his other arm is now under Duffy’s back. Dittos to the rescue?

Ah, killing, the easy way of the short-minded… Puncturing her biosuit would suffice and be funnier.

When a simple “NO” wouldn’t have sufficed.. Good thing Wally has a low center of gravity!

It really, really is time for a heart to heart between Duffy and Wally. Time to come clean.

Wally cat-apulted him to the ground.

IMO, we don’t actually know that Duffy meant to kill the Topsider, or even maim her. This setup is so blatant that it begs to be a ruse.

Don’t hold the knife that way and stab down. Hold it the other way and stab up.

Give one guy a knife and he wants to cut open everything.
We don’t want any monsters up in here!

The suits are impervious to normal knives. That said, wonder why Wally risked a physical attack instead of just dissolving the knife or something.
