That panel with the pier should be blown up to life-size, and plastered on the wall in every schoolroom in every school in the entire country. So many believe that their life is miserable because of something that SOMEBODY ELSE has done to them.
It may be that none of the previous Duffys had Chic’s “talisman” to protect him. The protection is symbolic, not paranormal. It reminds him of what he’s fighting for and why. The power to change the world is in him, not the talisman, but it’s his guide.
Duffy was a 50 50 chance. This may the first time Duffy chose heads instead of tails. Life instead of death. Marx has not been down that reality yet. Even if he has he’s not one to mention it. He leaves it up to you to forge your own path.
True enough. Life has no predetermined meaning. Life, in itself, isn’t anything. That’s good news, because it enables us to fill in the gaps by creating our own meaning.
So, Duffy has stepped back from the edge. They still have to stop all the realities from going KABLOOIE! We have to get 1.5 grex Wally back with Kirbee, Chic and Irving (at least I hope so), maybe we’ll find out what happened to Bennie. Terrance hasn’t done much of anything for a while, so he’s due to act on something boneheaded. Alan has been more heroic than even he expected; I hope he gets home safe. Did I leave out anything?
So why be shown this vision to begin with? That’s what I’d be asking. He seemed to just stumble upon this without ever seeming to ask:. Just WTF is going on here?
Here are some strips that might show how deeply the “Benny incident” affected Duffy. (From 2019) Multiple references to Benny being “killed”, so the event must have been pretty bad for them to assume that (instead of Benny just disappearing). Here is one: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/03/11 ; And here, it seems that Ravescroft is manipulating Duffy with an implied promise that Benny can be recovered: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/06/10 ; I think this one shows Duffy calling Ravenscroft a liar, which I see as Duffy hoping very hard that he can recover Benny. https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/07/29 ; finally this one shows Duffy screaming out against the possibility of Benny being dead. https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/08/19 These are just a few strips that hint at how much Duffy regrets causing the loss his younger brother. And, helps explain why Duffy wanted to jump off a cliff when he finally realized that he will never be able to recover Benny.

Does anyone know, is Aaron going to keep publishing new strips more or less once a month, for the foreseeable future?

So placing down a guess here that Duffy might actually end up becoming a sudo big brother to Chic
