I know people were already losing their vocabulary, even when these reruns were first published.
But has the word “swarthy” really slipped into total unfamiliarity?
Seeing a strange kid as a prowler…. and calling the police because you think he’s “swarthy” …. is SO not cool…
But I get the feeling Ms Wilkinson wouldn’t have had a character say that, had she actually known what the word means.

Must be a TERRIBLE thing to think a teenage boy is a terrorist. A prowler, maybe. But it pays to investigate, not necessarily arrest.
