Synopsis: “Stoner Dale Denton’s (Seth Rogen) enjoyment of a rare strain of marijuana may prove fatal when he drops his roach in a panic after witnessing a murder. Upon learning that the fancy weed can be traced back to them, Dale and his dealer (James Franco) go on the lam, with a dangerous drug lord (Gary Cole) and crooked cop (Rosie Perez) hot on their heels.”

That reminds me of the time our 15 year old niece tried to sneak a copy of one of the Shades of Gray books past me. She got Nana to buy it for her, made the mistake of letting Aunty Pamm see it. Needless to say I confiscated it, told Mum exactly WHAT it was about and told the kid that if “all my friends read it, Aunty!”, that we were going to call her father and let him make the final decision.

The book got taken back and while our niece was under 18, Nana was no longer allowed to buy her books. No, I never read it myself, not interested.

Facebook meme I’ve seen a couple times is about a student referring to “the late 1900s” making their teacher feel old. Already felt that in grad school at about 25 or 26 when I overheard an undergrad telling of going to see Deep Throat because she’d been studying Watergate in history class. Those were current events when I was in jr. high.

Reminds me of the time when I was 16 and accidently rented a porno for a mixed group of friends to watch at my place. The video store had put it on the wrong shelf and I’d mistaken it for the similarly named actual comedy. They didn’t ask for I.D. and my friends and I didn’t realize the mistake until after it started playing and my buddy’s girlfriend’s 10 year old sister saw the first bit of nudity. needless to say we turned that off quick and moved onto a different movie.
