When Ringling, Barnum, & Bailey circus came to town, many people would bring buckets to haul away free tiger dung. Supposedly the best fertilizer for backyards, flower beds, etc.!!

I worked a construction site near a chicken ranch. One worker filled his pick-up with chicken fertilizer each day and took it home. On the fourth day the construction boss got a call from the worker’s wife asking the boss to forbid her husband from taking any more truck loads of chicken dung. Apparently she had enough…..

The local sewage treatment plant sells bags of dried “processed” sewage as fertilizer. It doesn’t smell as bad as horse or cow dung, and the lawn greens up quickly after application.

Since 1926 MILORGANITE has been produced and sold by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. It’s not “poop in a bag”, but is composed of microbes that have eaten well, died, and been dried. The microbes contain the nutrients from the waste.
