For all you “golden agers” out there, the only thing golden about the golden years is your urine. This was told to me years ago by a 90 year old lady. Now that I’m in that era of my life I understand and totally agree with her :-}
I disagree that the alternative to getting older is worse. I’d rather die younger and spend longer in heaven, than to go through what my mom did the last 31 months of her life, which was “dying by degrees”. (She had a massive stroke, and then continued having strokes, and lost more and more of her capabilities.) However, I’ll leave the choice up to God, but I am not praying for a long life.
